I want something that can be used as a ball pit for my lo's birthday party in June outside. I would like it if it was versatile and could be used for other things, as well. Suggestions?

A kiddie pool; either the plastic or inflatable kind! OR what about building a big sandbox that you use as a ball pit for the party then change into a sandpit afterwards?

@mediagirl: haha I love giving you options!
Which do you think M would get more use out of? A sandbox or pool?

We use a kiddie pool.. I'll show pictures and what I bought.. FYI... the balls cost a lot!! It takes way more balls to fill a pool then you think...

@littlek: how many balls do you have? (hehe) And the pure joy on his face is awesome.
We have 150 so far. I figured I would need about 350 to fill a pool?

@mediagirl: We bought 5 packs of 200 and 1 pack of 150.. the pack of 150 was not as good as the link i posted above.. the qualit of those balls is much better (i feel totally dirty writing this LOL)

@littlek: holy COW. Okay...maybe we don't do a ball pit.... lol. Maybe I'll take part of @regberadaisy's idea and just put out a sand box filled with sand. That has to be cheaper....

@mediagirl: It's pretty awesome.. start out with like 3 packs.. and you can always order more.. if you do amazon you get them like next day

@littlek: yeah, the quality of the balls I have right now isn't all that great. The balls you linked to are the ones I was looking at getting this time. Balls, balls, ball.

@mediagirl: they are really good quality balls.. they are firm and don't dent like the package of 150 balls i ordered..

@MrsTiz: LOL
My dog would think he died and went to heaven/he'd have a heart attack if we put him in the vicinity of that many balls for LO. Awesome idea tho, my thought was a trampoline with the walls, how fun would that be (and mostly not safe?)
Did anyone see the most recent Amazing Race finale?

I'm subscribing because I have this crazy idea of creating a ball pit in the house. Great info here!

We have this baby pool purchased several years ago: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000C26AC8/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?qid=1368328986&sr=8-6&pi=SL75
We put one bag of balls in and the kids had a lot of fun at DD's first bday party. It's a small pool but all the kids played in it at some point. My 4 yr old and toddler can both still fit in it.
