Anyone care to share their outdoor lights/decor?
This is our first Christmas in our first home so we are starting from scratch and I'm overwhelmed and need some inspiration!

This is our first year also in our new house! We are going tomorrow to Target, if you spend $100 on Xmas stuff you get $50 off so we will stalk up on lights and looking for outdoor things as well. They have a cute snowman at target but I found some deer I love at Lowes. We are just going to line the first level with lights and do the windows and doors. Maybe the upstairs windows if my husband can do it from the inside. I am trying to keep him off the 2nd story roof

@Mrs.Pinecone316: how funny, I actually convinced my husband to get up on the roof to do the second story peak with lights Thanks for the heads up on the target deal! That will be our first stop and hopefully there will be plenty of lights.

Following! We didn't have any outdoor outlets at our last house, so I'm looking forward to putting up lights this year, but I would love some ideas.

Our first year in a house we did just a bit of decorating then hit the sales around Dec 20+ at target/ home depot in store & online and got bigger things (like snowman...deer...etc) for dirt cheap!
If you can hold back a little this year, it's a great way to save!!

@808love: pretty! I have a bunch of swag lights like this left over from our old place but no where to put them in our new house.
@meadow: good advice, thanks! We just got basics at the target sale yesterday. White lights for the roof and bushes. It will be a work in progress since we also have a need for more decor on the tree and inside since we are in a lot more space than we are used to.

We moved into our house 3 years ago. Each year we do a little bit more outdoor decorating. We started with a lawn reindeer and sleigh that light up. It wasn't that expensive and it made a big difference.

We just wrap the columns by our front door awning with garland and lights, doing it next weekend, I will snap a pic! I'd like to get a prelit faux wreath to hang on the door too, but so far I've only seen LED lit ones and I prefer the white/yellow traditional lights! Maybe I'll find one at the end of this season on sale for next year!
