Hi all,
I have oversupply and forceful let-down issues. At 4 months, I have read a lot about this and follow lots of the tips I have read (block feeding, nursing uphill) and they have helped a lot.
Just today I noticed that if I nurse more frequently that baby will spit up less. (It was really excessive).
Any experts in these issues here?
I'm trying to figure out if I should nurse twice from the same side or alternate with the feedings. Advice would be great!

I wish I could help! Poor Sawyer has just learned to chug, it is awesome though, because feeds last 6 minute max!

to explain further, I used to only feed after a nap (EASY)
Now I'm feeding before and after naps.
My concern is that if I alternate sides, the same side will always be the 'going to sleep' side and possibly not well-emptied?
But if I do the same side twice, then I'll still be going the same amount of time between feedings per breast, therefore being just as forceful as always in the pre-sleep feed.

Are you trying to tame the supply/forceful letdown? I did a lot of research about this awhile back and the consensus seemed to be that block feeding is a good way to reduce your supply and potentially lessen the forceful letdown. But I'm not sure if it would help w/ spitup.

I also have foreful let down. I hate it especially in the beginning when LO would start choking and milk would spray everywhere at 100mph.

@Mrsbells: Feeding one side only per feeding and feeding that boob for 2 feedings in a row.

@Mrsbells: yeah, it seems we got it so that he is no longer spitting milk all over the place or coming off and having it spray him all over his face.....we were both so covered in milk those first couple of months................but recently, now that he is going longer between naps and also more active with sitting up practice and such, we were getting covered by milk in another way: barfed milk!
@winniebee: thanks for your thoughts! I'm actually really excited about this change....I've rarely seen such a positive result so quickly with all my 'baby experiments' but this one definitely worked immediately. He even seems happier! (not that he wasn't happy before)...maybe more energetic? Looks like i'm saying bye bye to EASY.
