Do you own the house/apt. that you currently live in, or do you rent?
We rent right now and have never actually owned our own house, even though we're both in our 30s. We're finally just starting to house hunt for a house of our own. I'm so excited for this to finally happen for us!

We own. But might soon sell and then rent because we are moving to another country temporarily.

We own our home. We also own our old house in another city that we're currently renting out.

We're renting at the moment (an apartment). DH's company is in a temporary location, and we'll probably start looking to buy once they finalize a land purchase for their new facility. We didn't want to buy and then have DH stuck with an hour commute from the new building.

We rent as we're still moving around the globe every year or two and haven't yet decided on a country to settle down in. Once we make a 'permanent' move, we will buy. We've got a huge deposit saved up and are itching to be home owners (again for DH, he sold his investment property a couple of years ago) so hopefully within two years, we'll have made a move!

Currently renting... and I'm going to turn 30 this year. 
We have never owned a home before but we hope to when we move back east.

We are both in our 30s and have never owned either. But as we have always lived in expensive cities, it doesn't make sense to buy. Also, with DH's current job he gets a substantial rental allowance (currently 40% of our rent). If we were to buy, he would lose that allowance.

Renting. We would love to own but houses around here are ridiculous. A 3 bedroom, 1,300 square foot house down the street is a steal at $900,000. So yeah, not for awhile and we won't be living here when we do buy!

We own our house back in Alabama and are currently renting it out. We rent our house in Florida. It would take a fabulous house that I never plan on leaving for me to own ever again.

We actually own two places. DH bought a townhouse before I met him, but when I got pregnant we wanted to move into something bigger. We would have lost money if we sold the house so we're just renting it out now until the market gets better and we can sell.

We're renting since we live abroad still for DH's job. We actually don't pay any rent since his employer pays for it per his contract. We hope to have a quite a substantial down payment once we decide on a permanent city.

We own only because the monthly mortgage is the same as renting, if not cheaper depending on where you live.

We own... it doesn't make any sense to pay rent around these parts, as they are the same if not more than mortgages!

We have never owned a home and are 30 & 31. DH gets a stipend from his work for rent that we wouldn't be able to apply to a mortgage. Otherwise we would love to own. Good luck with your house hunt!

I bought my townhouse when I was 32. Living in the Boston area doesn't make homeownership easy. I can't wait until we can buy a bigger house though.

Renting. I really thought that at this point in our lives we would have bought by now, but it just hasn't worked out with needing to move location often. Now we can't get a mortgage because we run a company and haven't got 3yrs worth of accounts yet to prove to the bank we won't go bankrupt!

Rent-- and we are 32. But like @MrsCB: being in Boston doesn't make owning easy or that attractive before a certain point. We are still in the city now and considered buying a condo this year, but the market was just crazy, so we decided to rent a place that works perfectly for our family for the next 2-3 years, then re-evaluate where our next move will be. Mostly likely we will buy a house in a near suburb at that point.

We bought a place a few months ago. We are in our 30s too and this is our first place. Living in NYC makes it tough to own, but we felt like we had to do something to control our housing costs because rent has gone absolutely bananas. 2 bdrs in our building are currenly renting for $4-5K, no way we wanted to do that.
