What size Kong do you have for your dog? I think right now I have the Small Medium (I bought it when my dog was still a puppy) but now he's full grown (at least I hope he's done growing!) He's a Chocolate lab mix, and he's just over a year old, and about 85-90 lbs. Think I should move up to the Large/X-Large size?
Also what do you fill it with? I would love something that wouldn't be horribly messy and get on the carpet (that's why I've been sticking to peanut butter)

The only thing I own by Kong that has lasted is the red Kong ball. Everything else we've bought has been chewed up and destroyed. Even their black super strength Kong products got easily chewed up by my dog!

@Boopers: holy cow!! I like the Kong stuff, and the only thing that our dog destroyed so far has been this Kong stuffed animal. But when I bought it I half expected it to only last a few days anyway since my dog loves destroying all stuffed animals!

My current dog hates kongs, sadly,
We have filled it with frozen banana, that cheez wiz stuff made for dogs, peanut butter, and some of his food mixed with peanut butter.
I would definitely upgrade to the larger size.

My dogs always end up switching whatever they have so our big dog (pitbull) ends up with a size small kong and shih tzu takes the orbee artichoke treat ball. I love orbee toys but the little kong holds up fine to my dogs strong jaw.
Inside we fill it with their regular kibble and then block the opening with a little bit of cream cheese (seems less processed than the squeeze cheese stuff) and then freeze it for a little bit.

We have a few sizes for our large Shepherd/mutt pup. It's the only thing she can't destroy. We mostly fill it with peanut butter and she knows to eat it in her crate (we leave the door open so she can come and go from her 'safe zone' as she pleases) which reduced the mess elsewhere in the house.

@MrsBrewer: I have two of the big red ones. Those things are expensive. When we travel and I want to keep my dog occupied, I mix her normal dog food serving (well, a little less) with wet dog food and freeze it. That keeps her busy for awhile.

my dog has the L size..I think. I'm not even sure! it's big.
we usually stuff some peanut butter in there and shake some of his food, or some baby carrots, in. but he's supposed to be on a diet..so I"m not sure how well the peanut butter is going to work any more 
he's not very active (by choice!) so I need something to keep him busy, otherwise he lays and stares at the wall like he has the worst life ever!

We just stick a biscuit inside but our little dogs have a hard time getting those out 
My vet was telling me about this food cube that you fill with kibble and they have to push it around to have it drop a piece each time it flips. Apparently keeps them entertained, slows down their eating, and helps overweight or senior dogs stay active.

our dog ripped a kong in half! we recently got him one of these and he loves it and hasn't ruined it and he's had a it for a week (this is a record.. he ripped his kong in 20 minutes!)
ETA: they also will give you a new one if they ruin it! which is awesome because I totally think he will eventually ruin this one too.

We got our dog the Kong Wobbler which we use when it's too cold, or rainy to walk her. We break up some soft treats and add her kibble in there and she rolls it around the house getting all the stuff out. Keeps her mind and body busy for a little while!
We had a red Kong and a black Kong and she destroyed both! But we got the biggest size in the black and she hasn't destroyed it yet. We usually do PB with her kibble and biscuit treats and freezing it. We tried using wet food but she doesn't like it for whatever reason.

We have a medium red kong from my dog was a puppy, she is 70lbs now but hasn't torn it up so we haven't gotten another. We have done peanut butter with pieces of treats, or freeze baby food! She loooovvvves the baby food!

Our 55 pound goldendoodle would chew chunks off the actual Kong toy to get the goodies out of the middle, so we don't use one anymore. Peanut butter got too messy and the Kong peanut butter stuff made him sick. We actually buy peanut butter filled bones and he loves them. @sorrycharlie: omg. your neurotic doggie sounds a lot like mine. Except mine throws up as soon as he even tastes anything other than dog food. Like dropped bits of people food... or a tissue... or a baby wipe... or licking the ground. but yes, that cube looks like the one my vet was talking about!

@Boopers: Same here!!! The red ones are the best. The black ones are too hard, which basically makes my dogs want to destroy it even more.
We fill with peanut butter SOMETIMES. Otherwise, they just like to chase them & chew on them.
