Hellobee Boards

What about something more central, so that people from both sides of the state can join us? I live just outside of Harrisburg, and it's about 3.5 hours from Pittsburgh, 2 hours from Philly. That being said, I love Philly and would be happy to go back and visit friends from when I used to live there while meeting some Bees!

@bubblegum: A few years ago we did a PA meetup at the King of Prussia mall, which worked out pretty well. The kiddos played in one of the play areas and the moms got lunch and chatted. So that's an option.

In Central PA, there's Chocolate World in Hershey, although that would probably keep the moms busier with the kids and we may not be able to interact as much with each other. Outside of Lancaster there's Tiny Town (http://www.tinytownpa.com/) which would probably be really fun, and they have a coffee bar where the moms could sit and chat while keeping an eye on the kiddos.

@bubblegum: I'm cool with or without kids. Definitely without kids would facilitate the moms getting to know each other better, which kind of seems like the point of these! I also work FT, so weekends are better for me. If we do KOP, it should probably be after the holidays - that place is a zoo in December!

Interested! I personally don't like going into the city (very near both Abington and willow grove). I just found out about this place, though it does say you have to reserve for gatherings. I've never been but could always do a recon and check it out ;).

Edited to add that I went to the kop meetup a few years ago, and that definitely works. Or ikea? ;D

I'm in!! I went to the KOP meetup and had a lot of fun. I just moved to Downingtown but can travel where-ever.

My parents and siblings still live in the area. If it's around the holiday, I would most likely be home. I missed the last one at KOP.

@StrawberryBee: Definitely! I work FT, and weekends in November and December are looking a little crazy for us with the holidays, but I'd love to meet up! My LOs are 5 and 2.

@bubblegum: I agree on kid free. I have 3 boys and in no way shape or form it would be possible for me to converse with adults with all 3 unless I brought 1or2! And I agree probably after the holiday madness is over. I don’t really have any suggestions because I pretty much go to work and come home. I have no social life! But i’m liking all of the suggestions.

@2PeasinaPod: great! I'm on maternity leave right now (until early/mid December), but weekends are a bit packed for me as well. We went this morning on a spur of the moment thing and I really liked it (had a little trouble finding it, though Those lanes are crazy!). Maybe sometime in January? Open invitation to anyone

I'm thinking that it makes the most sense to do multiple meets? At least that's the idea I have in my head. A particular weekend may not work for everybody, or a particular location. Plus I'd like to see everybody more than just once ;).

@Canoli: I'm at a good spot right now where DD1 is old enough to entertain herself (huzzah!) and DD2 is young enough that she doesn't get into mischief yet, but I understand what you mean :). I'm good either way. I'd like DD1 to meet other kids because she enjoys it so much, but it's definitely distracting if the point is to get out and have some adult 'me' time.

@littlebug: I really, really enjoy Ikea. And the eating area is plenty big, as long as we don't hit it during a prime eating time. May get too noisy?
