Bathing suit and flip flops! Any time I stay in a hotel (even somewhere cold) I bring a bathing suit so I can go in the hotel pool or jaccuzzi.

Something to read, conditioner for my hair, tweezers for my eyebrows, glasses and sunglasses. I can get by without just about everything else, lol.

I also always pack an adapter and a surge protector with multiple outlets...I read about that on one of the threads here, it's been a lifesaver!

Apart from my phone, money/ID, and camera, I always bring bandaids and pain meds (headaches, muscle aches, etc.). We never fail to use them!

We keep a toiletry bag stocked with all of our regular toiletries at all times. I refill at the end of every trip. We do this because I was so sick of getting to destinations and realizing we didn't have toothpaste... or contact lens solution... or a contact case... etc. I then have a separate toiletry bag where we throw the usual suspects-- Wagon Sr.'s electric razor, my glasses in their case, my night cream, my grooming stuff (tweezers, nail clippers, cuticle nippers), and my makeup bag.

Otherwise it's just clothes, flip flops, shoes, clothes to sleep in (Wagon Sr. always forgets these!), phone chargers, camera and charger. Ever since smartphones we don't really need other entertainment.

I also carry a very well-stocked purse (advil, pepto bismol, eyedrops, extra contacts, band aids, vaseline, makeup, brush, hair elastics, etc) so I know that I have those emergency things with me at all times, traveling or not!
