Haha, I rented the same dress (short version). Looked great, but I ended up wearing the less sparkly back-up dress I got bc I decided his one was too sparkly for the event.

Mod Cloth does a lot of "retro" silhouettes that are very flattering for curvier ladies. Kind of "pin-up" style, but for a formal South American wedding, I'm thinking long, flowy, tropical prints and/or bold colours.
