I think I would do a light blue - the blue that's in the piping of the chair & the lizards on the sheets. And, you won't need to repaint when he's ready for big boy room.

@matador84: I know you didn't ask me, but I don't think I would do contrasting stripes with the madras and striped bedding. If you like the idea of stripes you could do them more subtlety on one accent wall by using the same color but different finishes (i.e. flat & semi-gloss).

I paint myself, but I hate it. Painting is my least favorite house project!

@matador84: Understandable.. I would still stick with something light.

@matador84: I think @Freckles' suggestion of a light blue-grey is a great idea to tie everything together. And then maybe a different grey (darker/warmer/more brown undertones?) for the living areas? Our living room is grey (not sure of the color name, but I think of it as elephant grey) and we absolutely love it - the color really helps to create a nice relaxing space.

Unrelated: that chair looks sooo comfortable and I love the photo. It reminds me so much of some of our LO's early weekly photos!

I would definitely get the samples ($5 each) and try them on the wall first.. they will look different in different lighting.. So it is good if you can sample a bit on each wall with different light exposure and during different times of the day.
