My DD has a SkipHop backpack, but it won't be big enough for her to take to kindergarten next year. She likes one of the PBK backpack prints that's on sale, so I was considering buying one for her. Do you have one? Any ideas which size would work best for elementary school?

My DD used the small size PBK backpack this past year for first grade. It was a good size for her. I don't know about your DD's Kindergarten requirements, but the mini size would have been too small because she needed to fit a 3 ring binder in there, and it fit just right in the small size. I think it could last her one more year, and after that, she would probably have to size up.

As the other poster said, our school required us to be able to fit a standard letter-sized item (small binder) in our daughter's backpack, and the mini ones wouldn't allow that. We ended up with this:

I like the backpack because it is big enough without flopping around the kids bum/knees as the full-sized ones do, but also big enough to hold the essentials. I have found that on special occasions (like Valentines day, etc) the stuff I send to school doesn't fit, but I think that would be true no matter what size the backpack is!

@Pancakes: The school list said "large backpack" so I ordered the Large
It worked out fine for DS but the small would have been better.
