We've had Ampersand Photography and Karen Race take family photos for us. Karen definitely does family pics on the regular. I'm not sure if Sarah does or if she did it because we're friends. They're both really great though! Mary at Birchtree Photography is a friend too. I do think her package setup is totally different than the other two, though.

A friend of mine is just starting up her photography company. If you're looking for someone who is very, very inexpensive since she is learning but still good, I can send you her name. She took some photos of us a couple of weekends ago and did an amazing job.

Kate Lall did our newborn photos (at our house) and I liked her and the photos a lot, though it was kind of pricey. We also got a livingsocial coupon for a family photo shoot with Daniel Wendling, and while he was really great with LO (who was about 18 months at the time) I didn't love the photos as much as I was hoping (though for the price of the coupon, it was totally worth it). We did those at a park near Connecticut Ave and 495.
Honestly, I feel like there are so often really good deals for things like this on LivingSocial and similar sites, I'd probably just do one of those!
