My husband doesn't cook at all, and since I'm a stay at home mom, all the cooking falls on me. I don't consider myself a great cook, and I typically try to make easy, fast things, especially with a toddler running around that I need to keep entertained while cooking.

Meal planning is getting more and more frustrating, mostly due to my picky husband. He complains about any foods I make that he doesn't like and refuses to eat it. He says he doesn't like chicken, doesn't like pasta, doesn't like sweet things and doesn't like a lot of vegetables. There are a few dishes I make that he likes (mostly beef based), but he gets bored of eating the same thing over and over, so he only wants me to make the same dish no more than twice a month. He also doesn't like leftovers, so he would prefer I make something new each night.

Since I'm not a big fan of cooking, I've tried services that prepare the meals for you, and you just assemble and cook them (kind of like Blue Apron, but less work). I figured that would solve his need to eat something new all the time. However, he still complains about the cut of meat (says it's too fatty), or he doesn't like the sauces or spices they use.

I'm at the point where I don't feel like cooking at all. It's frustrating to watch him pick at the food I make, and then throw the majority of it in the trash. Plus, I end up trashing leftovers that he won't eat. I asked my husband what he suggests we do, and he says he would prefer to get takeout if that would make it easier on me. I think that would be quite costly over time, plus the food we get wouldn't be as healthy as what I would make at home. Does anyone have suggestions or advice on our meal problem?
