I've had success with pure tea tree oil. First I would prep the area with a kosher salt and face wash scrub.

I sometimes use a sulfur mask as a spot treatment and keep that on a pimple overnight while I sleep. Peter Thomas Roth and Murad both have good sulfur masks for acne.

I just read that a pimple that won't go away could be a sign of skin cancer. I'd get it checked out by a dermatologist!

@alphagam84: yup! My pimple that would not go away was skin cancer- good advice.

Yea depending on what it is, I would have it be checked out. I thought I had a pimple bump from pregnancy but it ended up being skin cancer too. My dermatologist told me its really the white bump type spots that are more serious than the big brown ugly moles.

@T.H.O.U.: yeah mine was a kind of peeling bump that never healed- it always had some loose skin and a slightly open sore when it was 'active' otherwise it was just a bump under the skin. A photographer at a friends wedding took a candid of me and I realized how big it had become.

@youboots: I am so bad at determining issue spots. I always go to get checked out with a list of like 5-10 spots for him to look at and usually its all the other spots that I wasn't concerned about are the ones he wants to biopsy!

@T.H.O.U.: yeah I'm like a road map of biopsies at this point. And I'm 32

@youboots: Thank goodness I have only had a few (although one basal cell which wasn't good). But each one of mine came up with each one of my pregnancies! I've now started on Rentia cream to help keep everything at bay.

Eek, this is scary. My sister has a bump above her lip that looks like a pimple, but it never changes and has been there for I feel like well over a year now. I wonder if I should mention something to her, but I'm not sure if that would be insulting.
I'm super acne prone and always have pimples, but most start to heal within a few days. If I notice any lasting more than a few weeks maybe I should get them checked out.

@PeaceLily: I don't think so. Some cancers like melanoma are life and death

@youboots: Yeah, that's true. I will mention something to her about it. I don't think she's gone to a dermatologist since high school and I'm pretty sure she's never gotten a body scan to check for anything cancerous.
