We bought a pineapple on Thursday. And today there is juice oozing out of the side. Does that mean it's "bad", or just really ripe?
Can I cut it open? I don't want to get sprayed with juice!

Hmm, Ive never seen this happen before! I would assume that it would still be fine as long as the outside is still firm and not really squishy

I would just try it. I've heard from someone in the "produce buying" industry that there's actually no way to know from examining a pineapple if it's good or not, which sounds crazy. But apparently it's true.

@sloaneandpuffy: you can pull out one of the top leaves and it if comes out easily, it's ripe that's the only way I know. But I've never had an oozing pineapple before!
