Thanks! I'm soo annoyed because I suspected it yesterday and wanted to stay home from a family party. DH didn't believe me and now we possibly affected a ton of people who were holding and snuggling on LO. I swear mama always knows best!

@Boogs: Oh no! Hopefully she didn't pass it on. It's true, we do know best!

@artbee: I know, I hope he didn't.
@bluestriped bee: I'm just happy that at least LO is in a good mood!

Warm compresses to the affected eye, lots of good handwashing. Antibiotic drops and oral antibiotics don't help unless it's bacterial (which it rarely is). Tincture of time also helps! Hang in there!

@Mrs. Jacks: Thanks! Doing it all and headed to the pharmacy to pick up the drops now.

Oh no! LO hasn't had pink eye.. I would make sure to keep her hands clean and try not to let her rub her eyes!

@Mrs. Jacks: I have no clue. I just know who he got it from and they don't know how the person they got it from got it. Maybe they gave it because of the yellow/green discharge he has? Is it not the typical medication for pink eye?

Ugh. It went around RJ's preschool but he didn't catch it! But he does get lots of gunky discharge when he's congested because his bottom lashes stick into his eyes and irritate them easily. We use a clean cloth soaked in warm water and go at it. he HATES it. Usually if it's not too bad I'll wait til bathtime since that gets rid of it all too. Sometimes he literally has dried up gunky stuff hanging on the ends of his lashes and they move as he blinks. one of those things that's SO gross but funny.

@Boogs: Well, pink eye most of the time is a virus. People often prescribe an antibacterial for it (polymyxin), but don't be surprised if it just clears up rapidly on its own. The drops won't really hurt anything, but it's probably unnecessary use of an antibiotic. But I think it makes us moms feel better that we're doing something (and I would make the squinty wink eye pink if I could!)

@mrs. wagon: I know what you mean. LO has actually had that from birth, he had a tear duct issue that finally started getting better more recently so he's always had eye gunk. He's the same way, he also hates having his eyes cleaned.
@Mrs. Jacks: Ah, that's really good to know. I hope one way or another it clears up quickly because we are supposed to take 1 year pictures this week. I've been super diligent about washing my hands and his, but I hope I don't get it, too...especially not this week, lol.
