Has anyone ever had a kid get pink eye without having red eyes? LO has a cold and complained his eyes hurt for the past few days. His eyes weren't red and there was no discharge. I figured it was a scratched cornea and sent him to daycare and made an after school appointment. DH took him today and sure enough he has pink eye and we exposed everyone. I feel horrible,but I'm also so confused. Can you have pink eye without the telltale signs?

A good friend’s son just had pink eye without many of the normal symptoms! He had some eye “crusties” but no pink or discharge.

I’ve had pink eye a lot as a kid and adult, and for me the first symptom is always that my eyes hurt a lot. It can be a few days of just hurting for me before it progresses to pink eyes and goop.

maybe he’s not contagious yet if no discharge?
