Would you let your teenager get plastic surgery because they were getting bullied about their looks? The 14 year old in this story received free surgery by Little Baby Face Foundation on her nose, ears and chin. because they viewed her issues as a facial defomity.

No. The bullying needs to stop and I'd do whatever I could to do that. But putting my daughter through unnecessarily, elective surgery would get a big fat no from me. Using that girl as an example, there was a lot of other things we could do together to help her get more confident about her appearance (besides the emotional aspect obviously). A new hairstyle/wardrobe/beauty regimen could work wonders and no surgery required.

I think I'd rather put my kid through therapy than surgery! Kids are mean and we were ALL teased about something growing up. It's important lesson to learn that some people are just cruel and learning to ignore it will make you stronger.

I saw this story this morning. I would want to address the bullying and do therapy. I would probably allow for her ears to be pinned back but nothing else--I believe this girl got a nose job and something done to her chin as well.

I can't believe they viewed her facial issues as a "deformity"! Jeez!
I don't think teens should be getting plastic surgery - they haven't stopped developing and growing, and also I think it just reinforces the bullies message that she really wasn't pretty enough on her own to begin with. Some of us are more "ugly duckings" as teens, and grow into lovely adults.

I think so many people even supermodels didnt look that great as 14 year olds but bloomed into really great looking women. I think 14 is too young to make any surgical changes to your face

unfortunately, i don't think she's going to get what she is hoping for from this surgery. i don't think it's suddenly going to make her popular. if only teenagers had the foresight to see that popularity in high school amounts to squat. i'm sad for her.

No, because kids will just find something else to bully. She'll probably be made fun of for having plastic surgery, sadly.
Then again, if it gave her more overall confidence....but I just can't see doing it at 14.

Also, the fact that they considered her to have a facial deformity really cheeses me off. My SIL, who is mentally and physically disabled, has a SEVERE facial deformity to where she can't even close her mouth - EVER. That is worth free surgery, imo. Not this.

I think it's easy to judge someone for making a choice like this.
But she seems happy with her choice. I hope she doesn't become addicted to plastic surgery or anything, and that she gets the therapy she clearly needs (if she was considering suicide).
