We have the Skip Hop Playspot. It's cute and good quality, but it has many intriguing pieces that your LO may like to pull up and chew at any given moment.

We use one from Ikea. It's not foam, but it's soft enough and can be thrown in the washing machine. And I like that it's so easy to move from room to room.

we are trying out these foam tiles by sassy, I do like them but I'm not understanding how the cut out shapes can be used to play without creating a trip hazard...

we got LO Imaginarium Alphabet & Number Foam Puzzle Mat from BRU. it was great until he started biting off pieces of foam. had to remove them completely.

thanks for all the suggestions! will def look into it further! we have an area rug on our hardwood floor, but it's still pretty hard. DH and I don't even want to get on the floor to play w/ LO b/c it's so hard! right now, i've padded down the area LO plays on w/ thicker blankets and/or towels (w/ supervision).
