Do any of you use playtex drop-in bottles for your LO at daycare? How do they mix the formula? Do they have to mix the formula separately in a different bottle first?

We brought them in pre-mixed and they would heat it up. Our daycare does not mix formula.

@Andrea: Oh I see.. so do you mix it at home in a separate bottle? Because the drop in liners are so soft that no matter how hard I shake it, the formula doesnt mix with the water

I used to mix water and formula in the drop-in liners with a spoon or fork. There's also this $3-5 formula mixer gadget by Munchkin that I used before a few times.
Our previous daycare though was fine with mixing bottles for DD1. I brought the bottles already filled with water every morning and pre-measured out formula powder in little individual formula dispensers. A box of formula, drop-ins and more clean nipples/rings/bottles were in her cubby though as extra supplies just in case.

I didn't use drop-ins but knew someone who did. Their care provider required the bottles be made beforehand so they would mix the day's worth of formula in a pitcher and then pour it into the individual bottles.

@Andrea: oh ok cool. but one last question. If you mix the formula in bulk how can you tell how much is in each drop in liner? or you just use your best estimate when pouring ?

@Mrsbells: There are measurements on the side of the pitcher so that told me how much I was pouring into the liners. I wish they would have made the measurements in black ink as they are hard to see on the pitcher but they are there!
