As the title describes, we need help choosing a paint color. We recently redid the kitchen counters and backsplash but have NO idea what color to go with. The WHOLE house is covered in this yellowish tan so we are going to tackle it one room at a time.
Any ideas/inspiration would be greatly appreciated

looks good!! 
if it were my kitchen I'd go with bright white or light grey with bright white mouldings and trim. but those are always my two go-to 'colours'! it would really brighten up the place and take away the yellowish cast

@tysonja: I want a bright white, my husband says we need "color"...blah, I need to find other ways to introduce color outside of paint. I love a crisp, light paint. Luckily, we already have freshly painted white molding!

One of my favorite colors is Benjamin Moore's "Wickham Gray" if you're looking for a very soft gray/blue (I think that would be pretty with the shade of your backsplash and counters, but it depends on your natural light). Two nice shades of soft gray/green are BM Sea Haze or BM Gray Wisp. Two very pretty shades of white for walls and/or trim are BM "Cloud White" and BM "White Dove."

@swedishfish: It really depends on the lighting. In daylight, it's more tan, but at night, it gets this horrible greenish/yellow. I hate it...whyyyy someone would repaint the whole house this color in preparation for sale is beyond me! (I guess we bought the house though? haha)

@Bao: Oh it's going to happen . Sooner rather than later...if we can just get the 1st floor tackled, I'll be happy. We did paint the bathroom off the kitchen a very light blueish grey, it looks great!

Beautiful kitchen. If it were mine I would go for a sage green or a French country blue. Sage green doesn't evoke the most beautiful ideas--but check out the soft green colors with just a slight hint of grey.

@Mrs. Taco: I'm painting DS's room "Sea Haze" this summer, I'm so excited! I love both of those green/gray shades, hope they work for you too - definitely share the swatch photos with the granite

Our family room is a nice soothing green-gray (sherwin williams comfort gray) the living room & kitchen (connected) are a grey-grey which is a color I can't remember the name of for the life of me...sorry!

I think it would work best if you painted the whole first floor (at least the adjoining room) the light grey... so awesome you already have the white trim! looking forward to seeing the photos!
from the photos it looks like you have great natural light in there, too

Grey with brown undertones. It looks like the back-splash is a warm white/beige, so I think a browny-grey would be nice. And, it will complement the brown in the living room!

Ours is "milk pail" by martha stewart. It's blue, though with just enough green in it that if you hold up something really *blue* blue it looks green. We struggled for a long time choosing a color, and we're very happy with it.

Our master bath has very similar granite in it, and the tile floor has hints of both grey and tan. We painted the walls Behr's Polar White - while painting you worry it's going to turn out way too close to the white trim, but it dries a very pretty light blue-ish grey. It's possibly my favorite color in the whole house so far
