I frequently get horribly nauseous along with cramping the day or two before my period and the first day or two of my cycle. It was way worse when off birth control (combo pill) but is still pretty bad on it. I've been this way since I was a teenager so while it's not new it's still really hard to deal with. I have been on 4 different pills and none have made a consistent difference. Do you think it's worth switching again or any other suggestions? Part of me is seriously considering unisom/b6 like a substitute diclegis since this reminds me so much of morning sickness. I hate feeling so crappy every month.

Look up premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). I have more symptoms than just nausea, but I seem to have PMDD after having my 2nd child and went back on BC even though DH had a vasectomy and we don't need it otherwise. There has been more evidence of Yaz/Beyaz (contains drospirenone which supposedly helps a lot with PMS symptoms), so you might want to try one of those if you haven't already.

@peachykeen: I haven't been on yaz or anything like it. I have always been worried that getting my period only 4 times a year would lead to horrific miserable blood baths with horrible symptoms since with PCOS thats what happens to me naturally.

@snarkybiochemist: I don't have PCOS but periods haven't been any worse for me, and the benefit is no PMS if there's no period! My doctor actually told me I could take it continuously (and my sister does this with nuvaring for endometriosis) so that might be an option for you too?

I don't have PCOS but used to have very heavy periods and I have the mirena IUD and get no periods at all. No PMS symptoms, cramps and bleeding through clothes. I love it.
