    @Becky: Great! When will you go in for betas?

  2. Becky

    @paranundrum: My doctor doesn’t do bloodwork for typical (no history of loss, no fertility treatment, etc) pregnancies until after your first appointment. So unless something else happens, I won’t have an appointment until
    I’m 8-10 weeks. I’m going to call today to make it because I have a lot going on at work during that 8-10 week time frame and when I make the appointment I might ask for
    bloodwork sooner if insurance covers it.

    Ok, wrote off yesterday’s failure of line progression as dilution, but can’t make that excuse for this morning. Thankfully beta will tell me at 8am.

    No magic for me this month. Spotting started today and I'm expecting AF to be here by Wednesday at the latest.
    Somehow I feel even more disappointed than usual.

    @Becky: awesome!
    @yellowbeach: hope they give you results quickly again! I can think of a few possibilities for your tests

  8. yellowbeach

    Beta 1 (8dp5dt): 123
    Beta 2 (10dp5dt): 335
    Beta 3 (13dp5dt): 1164

    I seriously thought I was OUT.

    ETA: I am done POAS.

    @yellowbeach: yes I bet you are getting weird results because it’s too high! (That seems pretty high for 18dpo right?) - glad to see good news!!

    @yellowbeach: Wonderful! I'm so happy for you!

    @bhbee: Thank you, it really does...

    Ok, here's my theory - has anyone ever noticed that some FRER have a slanted 1 (over on the right at the handle) while others have a perfectly upright 1? In my picture above, Tests 9, 10 and 11dpt are upright ones and 12 and 13 (same box) are slanted. I wonder if the dye amount is different or something? I've noticed the slant before bc I often use that as my border for photo cropping. Thoughts? Theories?

    @paranundrum: I'm so sorry. This process is so difficult. Hope you have a week you can take it easy.

    @Becky: Nice!

    @yellowbeach: Oh my goodness, the 1000s already! 😍Congrats!

    I'm waiting for beta results today/tomorrow.

    Oh @Marfi, I'm so sorry. That wait is excruciating. How are you feeling?

  20. skiierchck99

    kiwi / 518 posts

    @yellowbeach: I bet they’re made in different factories which would explain the calibration differences. I’d never noticed!

    Also I didn’t do my first beta till 11dp5dt and was 200, 450, 900 (roughly). You started higher sooner which doesn’t necessarily mean I trying but I’m on board with the twins suggestion! How would you feel?

  21. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

    @skiierchck99 @SamsMom @LazB: Are ya'll seriously thinking this might be twins, or are you just messing with me for fun? I mean, I know it's technically possible, especially since we put in 3, but... the idea that I'd have 9 failed FETs in a row and then have 2 stick?

    How do I feel about the idea... I'd prefer a singleton only because I'd seriously worry about my health and the health of the babies, and with good reason. For those that don't know, DD#1 was born at 32w3d because I developed HELLP and severe preE and spent her first 34 days in the NICU, suffered an intracranial hemorrhage which lead to hydrocephalus and brain surgery at 4 months to place a VP shunt. She's basically fine now, but... yeah. So twins are a little scary for me (the pregnancy part). The raising them part while hard, we'd figure out one day at a time. We have good support (including multiple friends with multiples) and comfortable finances to hire help if needed.

    @yellowbeach: mostly messing 😘 and definitely not trying to freak you out! Did not know the background with dd1 but I can definitely understand your reservations. I’ll think happy singleton thoughts for you ☺️ Do you have an us scheduled?

    pomegranate / 3904 posts

    @breakouttheicecream: can’t wait to hear!
    @yellowbeach: Kind of messing with you, but I do think it’s twins lol. I didn’t have the same complications, but do have my babies early (35 and 36 weeks for the first two) so I get your fear of twins.

  24. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

    @yellowbeach: not messing, your betas are on track for an average twin pregnancy AND my spidi-twin senses are tingling.

  25. MrsSK

    @yellowbeach: I don’t normally post but just wanted to weigh in- fast rising betas resulted in an early ultrasound and I’m currently nursing my 6.5 month old twins.So... it could very well be!

    Just to share- I also developed HELLP with my now 4 year old resulting in him being delivered at 31w3d and a 5 week NICU stay. I was terrified to be pregnant with twins because of my history and because I felt that we were so lucky with how everything turned out with my oldest. That said, I delivered my twins at 37w3d. Things that were different with this pregnancy were that I took 2 baby aspirin right before bed and a high dose calcium supplement. Both my MFM and OB said there was research that high doses of calcium help with PreE and HELLP provided you start it within the right timeframe. Maybe you already know this or did it with your oldest but I certainly think it helped me (or didn’t hurt anything) and this was an entirely different pregnancy. Good luck with everything!

    nectarine / 2648 posts

    @MrsSK: Thanks so much for weighing in. I knew about the aspirin but will definitely ask about Calcium.

    For kicks, just to compare, I looked up my betas for DD#1.

    Yay for good beta numbers!! After thinking to myself “my boobs hurt” for the second time today I decided to get a test before picking up my child. This is not a great photo but I swear I see something? I’ll test again tomorrow morning.

    Does anyone have multiple LH surges per cycle? Do you just assume that the last one is your actual ovulation? My cycles have been all over the place (from 28 to 57 days) since my D&C. This past month, I had an allllmost positive OPK that lightened up again, then a week later, a definitely positive OPK (which I assumed was ovulation, so I stopped taking OPKs) and it's about 17 days later now with no period in sight a stark white preg test. I'm wondering if I had another surge sometime in the last two weeks that was my actual ovulation? My luteal phase has always been 13-14 days (or maybe that's changed now too?!)

    I've got no clue what's going on here!

    Has anyone noticed that surprise or complicated pregnancies are a central plot line of basically EVERY TV show right now?! Definitely doesn’t help. I only watch 3 shows and it’s happened on all of them (Euphoria, Greys Anatoly, This Is Us). Can’t escape it!

  37. msmilkshake

    cherry / 146 posts

    Amen to the pregnancy plot lines everywhere. Speaking of which...there’s definitely a second line here right? I grow cautiously optimistic.
