Do you think there is a "long" version of the name Poppy? Or a name that could use Poppy as a nickname?

Hmm, I might be wrong but I would think because it's the name of the flower it wouldn't be a nickname for anything. I think it's a cute name, though!

My aunt is Stephanie, but we call her Poppy. I think it's because my mom was two years older and couldn't pronounce it.

I can't think of what it would be short for either. I think it's a cute name!

LOVE this name!!! But I don't know of a "full" name for it...
Maybe Poplin/Poplyn?
Or if you don't want Poppy as the name, make Poppy her middle name and then have her go by her middle name!

I think poppy is a beautiful name by itself.
It is one of my favorite names but unfortunately it sounds bad with our last name.

It's a super fresh sounding name right now. Our second daughter's nickname isn't supposed to go with her nickname, but we didn't care. I think Poppy is a fine nickname for Penelope.

I think Poppy or Pepper would be great nicknames for Penelope (instead of the traditional Penny)!

Dh's fav girl names right now are poppy and piper. Like PPs said, I don't think it needs a long name!

DD is Penelope, and while I never thought to call her Poppy, I think it's super cute:)

Poppy is an awesome name! Short for Penelope, but the gorgeous actress Poppy Montgomery is actually Poppy Petal not Penelope.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I think it sounds perfectly fine with your last name!

@Mrs. Pen: really? I like the idea of it as a MN too because it matches the "vibe" of Capri.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I think it sounds fun and ecletic with your last name. It has a fun ring to it... I think it's fun to say hahah. And yet I think it matches W's name so well.

Thanks ladies!!! I love the name but wasn't sure if it needed a formal name.

@ckbr: this is my families current nickname for my unborn child (b/c at Christmas when I announced we were expecting I was telling people it was the size of a poppy seed...well it stuck) so I have considered a nickname or middle name for it. My grandma has already decided she loves it so much she will call it poppy (so long as its a girl) no matter what the formal name is.
