Hi can someone tell me if this chart is acurayw? It says I ovulated on day 14. Is that what it looks like? I also got a positive opk 7 times this month? What is going on? I had a long period last month.

Have you tried a pregnancy test? Opks are also positive when pregnant...

Thanks for the reply! Yes tried yesterday but negative! Maybe it's too early to show though? Last month I only had 1 positive opk.

@Jess93: are you sure you’re reading your ovulation tests correctly? The line has to be as dark as the control line or it’s not positive. I recommend the ones with the smiley face. So much easier.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I have the digital that say yes or no. They all said yes!

@Jess93: it’s kinda weird that all of your positive opks came after your crosshairs. I would keep taking a pregnancy test till I got my period. But I’m a compulsive over tester.

I know Its so strange. I want to take another so bad but I don't want to waste them because I think it's too early. I really hope I am though!!! I hope it's nothing bad though. My chart seems to be very up and down.

I also don't know if we should stop trying this month or not. So confusing!

Depending on what your temp does from here I lean that this isn't ovulatory yet. Maybe your body has geared up a few times but hasn't ovulated yet.
If the opks were positive because you were pregnant you would definitely have a positive test by now
Fingers crossed things smooth out for you!
What do your charts usually look like?
coffee bean / 49 posts
I don't have any other charts to refer to because this is my first chart. Before I was just using opks. Also the husband is tired out by now so I hope we don't miss it!
nectarine / 2288 posts
@Jess93: how accurate do you think your temping is? Is it same time every morning and you're sleeping sound? Oral temp isn't crazy reliable if any of those factors are off
coffee bean / 49 posts
I take it as soon as I wake up which is normally the same time every day maybe off by an hour on some days would that make a big difference? I get a good 8 hours every night. Even if it's off though I don't know why there's 6 positive opks and why I might be having trouble ovulating
coffee bean / 49 posts
I also had very little very light spotting once today. Don't know if that's ovulation spotting maybe or implantation idk which would make more sense

What was your temp this morning? I wonder if you Od on CD20. I’ve read that some women get a little bit of spotting immediately after O.
coffee bean / 49 posts
I didn't temp this morning because I was up at 3am to pee (sorry if tmi) and couldn't fall back asleep! I hope it's from ovulating though!

I think that you ovulated on day 20, and that day 17s high temperature was a fluke. I always went by the 3 after 6 rule. I'll try to find a link for it.
I think your body was trying to ovulate for a little while and just couldn't get the egg to pop, per se.

I found that even varying my temping by 30 minutes would shift my temperatures. For ME, every extra 30 min asleep was a rise of about .1-.2 ,, and vice versa. I set an alarm on my phone and always tried to temp at that alarm, and sometimes would just fall back asleep right after.

Without today’s temp I don’t think you can be confident you already Oed, so I would say that if you’re up for it, you probably should. If you did O on CD20 then it probably wouldn’t matter but it’s hard to be sure.

Ok so now it's saying I ovulated on day 16 and I think my spotting yesterday was implantation bleeding fingers crossed! My temp has gone back down now.
coffee bean / 49 posts
I took another today cause I thought it may have been to early and it says yes again now so I don't know.

I took one 4 days ago and it was neg so if I ovulated on the 16 shouldn't I wait 2 weeks after that?
pomelo / 5257 posts
@Jess93: If you ovulated on the 16th, then it basically has been two weeks, right? 16-29th is 13 days. ETA: Also def wouldn't count you out if it was negative four days ago, because you only would have been 9 DPO!
coffee bean / 49 posts
Sorry I meant cd 16 so the 21. Thanks I will take another soon! Going to wait as long as I can do I'm not disappointed!

Also my temp went down now today and the chart doesn't even know if I actually ovulated. So I don't think I can rely on the opks or temps this month. Just relying on my egg white that I actually ovulated already!

It took me a few months of charting to figure out how to do it in a way that was consistent. I never used OPKs. Even a beer or glass of wine with dinner would rais my temp a little. I have to keep track of those days so it wouldn't throw off my chart. I also found that getting up to pee 3+ before I would temp was fine. But closer would mess me up. But I could take my temp before peeing and it would be ok (as in taking it early). I would take LOTs of notes as you figure out how your body works.

So far, your chart doesn't look like you've ovulated yet. Are you temping accurately? (aka are you using a basal thermometer, temping at the same time every day THE EXACT moment you wake up, etc?) How long are your cycles normally? Charts can be so fun to read, but so frustrating, too!
And I agree with @maddyz: …if this is your first month charting, I would take LOTS of notes. Every body is different, you never know what is going to affect your temp and throw off your chart!

Thanks ladies! Yes it's very frustrating because I will get my period soon and thought we were all done this month! We are both tired lol! Yes it's my first month and I haven't been exact every morning because of my work schedule but if nothing happens this month then I will start making an alarm so it's the same time and I also think that dipping the opk is more accurate for me so I'll try that too!
pomegranate / 3438 posts
What time are you doing your OPK? I've read afternoon is the best and to do it at the same time every time.
They never seemed to work right for me, I would get a positive but then the blood test would show I didn't ovulate. Or I wouldn't get a positive and the blood test showed I did ovulate and we missed it.
coffee bean / 49 posts
Yeah I think I was testing too early. I was around 8. I thought it was fine though cause it was no forever but then I kept getting yes. I'm going to try around 2 from now on. How did it work out for you?
pomegranate / 3438 posts
@Jess93: I have fertility issues (PCOS and a history of no cycles at all) so we had to use fertility treatments. The only time I used OPK's were when we were doing Clomid or Femara and timed intercourse. I either didn't ovulate or we missed it, eventually we had to move on to other treatments.

I'm sorry to hear that! I've honestly thought about if I have PCOS because of my crazy periods before and after I was on the pill. I'm really hoping I did ovulate this cycle! I really want a Christmas announcement! I also hear that vitex helps? If nothing happens this month I'm going to bring it up to the doc!

My personal opinion--you can't deduce anything from your current chart if you haven't been super super super meticulous about recording at the same time every morning, etc. Charting is fun and can tell you a lot, but it is a little work to figure out!

Well I have very good news! Still had a little spotting today but I got a positive preg test!!! 11 day dpo. So happy!
