So LO is almost 14mo and is mostly breastfeeding on demand. We stopped doing bottles just before he turned 1. I work from home so when I am working in my office my part-time nanny gives him a cup with breastmilk in it. Now that he's drinking from a cup and not a bottle, he drinks more milk than I pump during that time. I never had this issue with bottles (he was never the biggest fan), and I'm not sure what to do! My freezer supply is dwindling and I don't want to be producing less then he drinks, but I don't want to limit how much milk he is offered in a cup. Has anyone had this happen?

when my freezer stash ran out, i started giving almond/coconut/hemp milk. i haven't pumped since she was 11 months old. i can skip feeding now without issue or worrying about pumping and it's really freed me up! she is 16 months old and we still nurse 2x a day and sometimes overnight if she's being crazy and waking MOTN.

Given your LOs age, couldn't you give cow's milk (or another milk) once he drinks all of your pumped breastmilk when he is with the nanny? When continue to BF on demand when you are together?

Well, I'd just prefer not to give cow's milk (or another milk) - ideally I'd like to be only giving him breastmilk for as long as I can. I am actually still pumping whenever I'm gone for more than a couple hours to keep my supply on par with what he's drinking each day, but have been considering adding a pumping session right before I go to bed so that I'm not a few ounces behind every day since he drinks so much from a cup. Is that crazy? I just didn't expect that he would end up drinking so much milk while I'm gone when we stopped giving him a bottle! Maybe I just need to accept that if he is getting milk from a cup, I won't be able to keep up... -
@Dagny: How is he doing with eating solids? Maybe you should consider limiting the amount of breastmilk he gets from a cup while away from you, especially if its making him too full to eat solids?
