Its been kinda rough! We're having a double sleep regression over here and I haven't had a break from my kids in weeks, the terrible twos are gearing up and I'm losing it a bit lol BUT both girls slept in this am and I got some quiet time to myself so we're all in good spirits right now. Today and tomorrow we're gearing up for DD's birthday party on Saturday and I can't wait!

@Mrs. Sunshine: ooh planning for birthday parties is always fun! I hear you on the double sleep regression, both girls had an awful night last night, baby was up twice (teeth I think) and my toddler ended up in bed with us.

Yes to the shorter weeks dragging! DH has been home from work a lot this week which is so nice, but also makes for a much messier house! DS has been so independent which is awesome, but DD the miraculous sleeping baby is starting to wake up more at night

I do not like birthday planning. I'm last minute planning for my LO's 1 year birthday, which is next week.
Does anyone have any good places to shop for non-tacky birthday decorations?
Also, is it ok to give her cake?

@Pumpkin Pie: If you want, you can just go with bright colors and avoid the character drama. you can use stripes/polka dots and call it good. I don't think they have to be themed, you will get to that when they get older (coming from me who is currently planning a Sofia the First party for my 3 year old!)
I'm in the "yes to cake" club, I think it's their birthday and they deserve a little treat. I know others disagree but I say go for it!

@Pumpkin Pie: I feel like Target has good decor that don't scream characters or kids.
I already have to start thinking about ours in Dec!

This week is going on forever for sure!! I have an awful sinus infection, and I'm preggo. Not a good combo!
Plus I have a new boss at work who CONSTANTLY asks questions. It's driving me nuts!

Ugh, not the best week for sure. I've had to work late every day, and it's NOT due to poor time management on my part I had to give a last minute presentation on a topic I'm not that knowledgeable about, which was nerve wracking and I just have a lot (work wise) on my plate. I'm hoping things will calm down after October.

I love the stipes/polka dot decorations, but just havent been able to find any. I'll have to check target again.
This week has gone by pretty quickly. I'm just waiting for my LO's diaper rash to get better.

Ok, I have a general question about sugar for babies. I dont cook with sugar for the LO, and she hasnt had anything sweet, or any juice, etc. Is it ok to start giving her sweets like cake? I must sound like an idiot, but I'm looking for guidance. Someone at daycare actually asked me if it would be ok for her to have cake for her birthday, and I said "yes", but then realized "oh sugar"!

My week is going by too fast! I can't believe tomorrow is Friday. I'm busy at work and now down to daily morning ultrasound appointments for IVF! Eeek! Too much going on. I like slow days and I'd really prefer to just be laying around in a pool.

I had a parenting fail last night. LO cried a couple times during the night, but then she would quickly stop after a minute or so, so I didnt go in. I went in this morning, and there was vomit in her crib. I felt so so so so terrible.

@Pumpkin Pie: I wouldn't worry about the sugar in cake. DS hadn't really had sweets before his birthday cake and did fine. Make sure any allergens in the cake like eggs or nuts aren't new foods though. And don't fret about last night. If your LO had been distressed the crying wouldn't have stopped quickly!!
