LO is almost 28 months old and we've approached potty training in a very lazy, haphazard way. She was the one who asked us to buy her underwear, and a potty about 1 month ago but with traveling and moving we never got around to doing anything. A few weeks ago, i bought her pullups and a potty seat. She loved the whole routine of going to the potty, wiping, washing hands, etc. but the problem was she always asked us to go to the potty AFTER she peed in her diaper.

Then last week, we discovered she had a UTI!

I have a feeling she is able to hold in her pee. I decided today that i'll start potty training after work. I printed out a potty chart, bought stickers, put her in underwear and had her sit on the potty at 5:15pm, 6:00pm, and 7:30pm and nothing! She was content getting stickers for the other things she did (pulling down pants, siting on potty, washing hands). As i was giving her a bath she kept saying to me, "new diaper, poopy!" which i interpreted as her having to go (she looked uncomfortable) and sat her on the toilet...and again, nothing. It was only when i put on her nighttime diaper that she peed.

I don't want to pressure her to pee in the potty, but i don't want her to hold it in and risk another UTI. Any suggestions?
