No idea but following!!

I just had this discussion with my daycare provider because they do potty week (and because grandma thinks that DS (20.5 MONTHS when #2 arrives) will be potty trained when number 2 arrives!).

#2 is due at the end of May and my daycare lady said the absolute latest she would attempt it would be April but she said more than likely anything after January and he would have regressions.

I potty trained 6 weeks after baby was born. We definitely had a lot of baby like behaviors that first month but as soon as he started acting his age I jumped on the opportunity cuz I hated dealing with two in diapers! I might attempt it anyway and them deal with the regression... Not sure though.

We had to deal with a few regressions after moving / weaning / sickness. But she was on the younger side and I preferred dealing with regressions than deal with washing or buying diaperS for longer

We potty trained LO in early September at 28 months so that she could start attending her preschool this month when she hit 2.5 years. LO2 is due around Thanksgiving. We didn't want to start training earlier because of a cross-country move, switching to a big girl bed, and a handful of visitors.

We did everything you're not supposed to in terms of potty training during life changes So far she is doing really well, but we'll see how/if there is any regression when the baby comes. If it does, oh well.

I'm really not sure. But we are on the verge of switching my son to a big boy bed and I'm 33.5 weeks pregnant so that could totally backfire! We are still waiting on potty training (he's 2.5)

Not sure what is "too close," but if I were you, I'd try and go all in with the potty training now (Thanksgiving break). If she's interested and you have a free weekend you can really devote to it (and your preg body is up for it), I don't think it could hurt... If anything, you could just table it and come back to it after LO2 arrives.

I've had DD's daycare teachers tell me if you wait too long, they lose interest and it is more of a struggle (we wanted to wait to train until after a holiday vacation but the teachers encouraged us to just go for it). We did the 3 day method a month before DD turned 2 and it went well. It actually made me wonder why I dragged my feet so much, lol! DS was about 5 months at the time.

To add, DH and daycare teachers were on board with the PT'ing plan. I think if it were mostly just me training and I was pregnant, it would be pretty difficult just in terms of rushing LO to the potty, kneeling/bending, cleaning up accidents, etc..

If she is into it now, I would run with it and try. You never know. FWIW, we potty trained my son about 5 months before DD was born, but he had regressions/accidents for about 3 weeks after she arrived. So early is no guarantee either.

We trained at 26 months, about 2 months before #2 arrived. She had it down pat, but started having a few more accidents once the baby was born. After a few days that slowed and now she has maybe one accident per week. It was mild enough that I think the 90 day rule was crap for us (I've never heard of that before reading this thread). Honestly, I think it's very unrealistic to expect a toddler not to have the occasional accident for months after training. And, it doesn't have to be a complete regression when the baby comes. It just takes some consistency and extra thought.
