Like the title says... my 22 month old is potty training herself, but she's allergic to all but one kind of diaper. I'm sure we could keep using her current diaper but it's not easy to get on and off like pull-ups would be.
I'm trying to think of a plan of how to help her help herself

Do you stay home or is she in daycare? We had success going pants less for a few weeks at home and just loose pants no pull up or undies when we went out. And you could still use diapers for sleeping. Unfortunately not a great solution if she is in daycare.

Have you looked into the Honest brand? We're switching because T is being irritated by diapers even after switching from Pampers to Huggies. They have training pants out now and I think they're pull ups.

We never used pull ups either and LO did fine! But if you are looking for something I think cotton babies makes a cloth pull up?

@skipra: she's in daycare, but I work from home for now so I could try keeping her home for a while to get her through the main training.

We did Oh Crap! Potty Training and did no bottoms, commando, then undies. We use regular diapers for night/nap.

We did cloth diapers, and I wasn't about to buy the extenders to turn them into pull ups. I just bought a bunch of training underwear (they are more padded) and we've been using those. It's been slow because he's young, but I just washed them when we ran out. If we needed to go out and I really didn't want a mess I just put a diaper cover over his underwear. We still do cloth diapers for naps and bedtime right now.

Straight to undies for us (well, after a loooong time commando with just pants/shorts). We use a cloth version of a pull up at naptime over gerber underwear (the gerber absorbs enough for naptime and the "pull up" is just a pull on/off diaper cover. We use a regular cloth diaper at night. We call it his "good night underwear" but I think he knows it is a diaper and just doesn't care haha.

@skipra: Cloth swim diapers are actually designed to have pee go straight through them. They are for catching poop only.

We use Seventh Generation Pull-Ups, and my very sensitive LO doesn't get irritated by them. We're not actually potty training yet, but she wants to be able to put them on and off by herself. Might be worth a try?

They do make cloth trainers though. Lots of different styles.

Our cloth diaper service has training diaper options. You might look into it, since it would give you the ability to use cloth without the investment for something you'll need so briefly.

We went pantsless for three days then went to underwear. She's never used pull ups (just a diaper at night).

Not to derail but which brand is she okay with? My son is getting eczema flares around his diaper, like hips and upper thighs, and I am considering what brand to try next.
