Has anyone had any success/experiences in potty training without a rigid approach? (i.e. not using the 3 day method/oh crap book or anything like that).

DD is 25 months and sporadically will ask to use the potty for a #2. She might successfully do it a few days in a row and then not ask or want to try when asked for a few more days and then will go back to using it etc.

I don't honestly like the idea of a structured approach in a timeframe or letting her run around the house without a nappy on etc. and my gut is telling me to let her lead and not push her.

Will this work or am I kidding myself?!
