Anyone done it to increase supply? Did it work? How often did you do it?

Yes. I had to about double my pumping sessions (3 sessions to six sessions) over about 3-4 days to see results by the following week. Usually I pumped 20--25 minutes. But when power pumping I wouldn't always wait for that second let down because I know I would be pumping again soon. So it was more sessions but not always that long.

I tried power pumping and I think it helped. I also took a little Fenugreek at the same time though, so it might have been a combination of the two that increased supply. I power pumped and took Fenugreek for about a week I think. I should have wrote down what i did cause now i can barely remember. I just know i googled and read alot of Kellymom haha. My supply managed to increase enough that I was able to EBF for over a year.

@T.H.O.U.: @tiramisu: When did you start power pumping? How old was LO?

Yes I power pumped 15min on/15min off x4 once in a while wen I noticed my supply was dipping. I Eped so if I missed a pump one day I would power pump the next day and I would notice an increase the following day

@LindsayInNY: I think you can do it any time. I did it several times while working.

@LindsayInNY: I think LO was about 3.5 or 4 weeks old. I forgot to mention that I did have to supplement with formula before that, but after the power pumping my milk increased enough that I was able to stop supplementing. I did the pump for 15-20 min., rest for 10 and repeat for about 1.5 hours each day for one week.

@LindsayInNY: Also agree with adding a ton of protein, lots of water, and manually massaging.

I did the boot camp version. Two straight days with seven one hour sessions (20 on, 10 off, 10 on, 10 off, 10 on). I just did this last Thursday and Friday and have not seen results, so now I'm doing one session a night. I think my low supply is different then, because my supply is fine between 3 am and 9 am but non-existent at all other times.
If you do it, I recommend olive oil as a lubricant from the get go.

I did a power hour once every evening until my supply picked up, but I don't remember how long that took. Just a few days each time, I think. It's a pretty effective mimic of cluster feeding.

I did for a few weeks when af showed at 4.5 months pp. that coupled w pumping at work since 3 months pp affected my supply. I just did longer sessions and an extra session at night. I sometimes had to do it during af time every month but also took mmp, fenugreek tablets, calcium+mAgnesium, and it helped to keep my supply for baby's needs for a lil over a year.
