@Mrs. Jacks: we won't know the details of how they plan to do his surgery until tomorrow. All I know at this point is that they will be putting him on bypass, reconstructing his aortic arch, and ligating his PDA. Hopefully they will work quickly enough that his kidneys and other organs don't get much worse than they already are too!

@MrsScallop: I also hope that they'll get a better idea about the other dysplastic valves.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that bypass goes smoothly and that liver, kidneys and brain are stable to improving!

Thank you everyone! We are having another very quiet and restful day, with a few tweaks to his dialysis that seems to be improving his fluid output. Maybe he will actually lose weight today!

@Mrs. Jacks: Yes, I hope so. As far as I know, they have no plans to do anything to his valves, but that could change during surgery. We are definitely hoping for no surprises in there!

Well, it looks like surgery will be delayed for another 2-4 weeks. Charlie has been doing so well over the past couple days, the doctors want to keep going and let him get as strong as possible before taking him to surgery. So we will be here for a while still, hopefully with very uneventful days!
Thank you always for everyone's thoughts, prayers, and messages checking in. It means so much to us!

@jhd: @MamaG: @lady baltimore: Thanks ladies! It is so nice to see you all checking in on us!
Things have mostly been going well, just one scare (his vent got plugged) and a few blips here and there. He has lost quite a bit of weight at this point (close to 2 lbs in just fluid), they started feeding him tiny amounts to see if he can handle it, and has been weaned down off of many of his blood pressure meds. He is still very dependent on his vent and doesn't handle being unparalyzed for more than a few hours very well, but I think we are making some progress overall.
