Sort of embarrassing, but I have this little patch of fine hair the grows on my neck, under my chin. In the past, I took care of it by using Nair every couple of months, not problem. I'm not at all comfortable using Nair while I'm pregnant, so it's sort of been growing for the last 8 months and is really bothering me (not to mention that DH brought it up, which is another story). I definitely don't want to shave, because ew, stubble on my neck?? Any recommendations for something that would remove fine facial type hair without an expensive visit to a salon or harsh chemicals? At home waxing strips? Some other 'as seen on TV' product?

I would wax that kind of hair. I used those Veet wax strips a long time ago, and from what I remember, they work. They sell them at drugstores, and wax is definitely pregnancy safe (though it could irritate your skin more, depending on how sensitive it is to wax normally).

I tweezed it out during pregnancy.
You could get an epilady, too.

I used nair in the third tri. Hmmm. Waxing is a good alternative.

I have used Veet hair removal cream during pregnancy. I think that's the same as Nair, isn't it? I used it on my lady bits so it was right by the babba, too! The Veet website said it was safe to use during pregnancy....

@LazyLightning: @Cherrybee: Hmm... i never even checked if Nair was safe-- it just smells so chemically that I assumed it was a no no.
Also since baby is pretty much almost fully cooked by now, it probably wouldn't make a difference. I'll probably try to home wax strip things first though.

@Cherrybee: I used it there too! Really made things cleaner for my recovery after the birth (I'm too much a wimp to wax...)

I used Nair down there throughout my pregnancy...I asked the pharmacist and doctor and both said it was safe since it is topical. I'm like you, it smells so awful that I was wary, but I haven't had any problems. I used it sparingly and watched the time closely.

I agree with the waxing recommendation. Its easy to do at home, and you can get chemical-free brands (I like Moom). Plus, it lasts longer than Nair.
