As some of you ladies know, I just went in for my HSG today, which went great! The radiologist pointed out that the chance of pregnancy increases after the test (I've also heard this on message boards and from my OB). True for any of you ladies??

Yep. First possible cycle. But my tubes were blocked, so it doesn't really count.

@septca: makes sense.. maybe sense mine weren't blocked, it won't make a difference...

It is supposed to improve fertility. Even if your tubes aren't blocked, they often have stuff in them that can impede sperm in their journey. My doctor says having an HSG is like "clearing out the cobwebs."

My ND said something about the dye helps an embryo stick for up to 3 months after, but I guess not all places use the same dye.

@pui:
Yep, I got pregnant on my HSG cycle. We were really surprised about it, but the doctor said it happens a lot. I bled big clots for days, I'm convinced it cleared me out. I got pregnant about two weeks later.
Fingers crossed for you!
ETA: my tubes weren't blocked either!

Sounds promising, ladies! Now I'm frustrated because they said NO BD for 24 hours!

I have no idea if it was a coincidence or not because we weren't trying before that but I did get pregnant very soon after an HSG and though there was no real blockage the doctor did tell me that there was a slight slowdown in the flow at one point so maybe it cleared things up. We are trying for another baby in January and I will totally get another HSG if things seem to take a bit.

@Angthrice: This is amazing to hear. This is my HSG cycle and I'm on either dpo 11 or 12. I've had some weird almost ovulation type cramping so I'm afraid I'm out. If I don't get pregnant this month we're moving to Clomid so here's hoping.

I just got pregnant last cycle- right after my HSG. But it was a CP and I lost it a few days later. But we DID get a BFP!

I wrote on this board blog earlier in the week and guess what! I got pregnant on my HSG cycle after almost 11 months of trying. I had the HSG on cd12, ovulated on cd14 or 15 and got my bfp about 12-13dpo. I'm very conscious of how lucky we are. I have a low AMH count for my age (27).
Those "ovulation pains" were probably implantation or my uterus stretching!

@MRSJD: I had the HSG on cd 12 on Tuesday, and got pregnant 4 days later on ovulation day on Saturday! 14 weeks today.
ETA: CONGRATS on your !!

@dc yoga bee: thank you so much! I'm overwhelmed and so happy. It's very surreal. We haven't told anyone yet. I'm scared to before we get the first ultrasound at 8 week.
