Just saw pics on Facebook of kids dressed up for a pre-school prom. Anyone ever heard of this? I'm kind of surprised and think it's a little silly, but maybe it's just me!

I think it's cute but completely unnecessary! Our town does have a father/daughter dinner/dance though...and I think that's adorable.

@plantains: I'm with you on the graduations. If you graduate prek, k, elementary & middle school it can't be all that exciting when you actually graduate from high school!

Yuck. I don't like having young kids do older kid stuff.
This reminds me of a teacher friend who has a Q and U wedding for her kindergarten class. The girls dress in white and the boys in their suits. They hold up the Q and U and marry them in a ceremony. Not a fan of that either.

This is at a private Christian school. They set up the classroom with nice chairs, have an aisle, a ceremony, a reception afterwards.....the whole nine yards!

prom to me feels very young adult coming of age hormonal and should be reserved for older kids.

I like the idea of having a fancy night to dress them up in adorable clothes but with parents involved--- and not called a prom!!
