My LO loves his puppy Angel Dear lovey. I bought 3 just in case we lose one. I got him from his crib this morning and found that he had pulled off one of the ears! Yikes. Glad nothing happened. Maybe I have to reinforce the ears on the others??

That is impressive! And also, scary. Yeah, I'd say reinforce the others to be on the safe side.

I think that's a sign of a well-loved lovey! I used to chew off the ball nose of my stuffed animal mouse all the time when I was very little. My mom said she had to see that nose back on so many times!

haha wow! Definitely well loved. The puppy even looks a little sad about it.

Aw, poor lovey. Depending on how old the lovey is, that might be something I might consider contacting the manufacturer about, just in case they have received lots of reports from other parents about it. It could be a defect and choking risk. Maybe they would also send you a new one.

It's really not that old, though 2 of the 3 are newer, and I'm not sure which is which. I may contact the company.

@T-Mom: I was thinking that too -
I'm not really a consumer complainer, but I'd be really worried about a child who puts things in their mouth potentially choking on that. I think it should come reinforced, not that you'd have to do it yourself...I mean I know to a degree kids definitely use and abuse things, but it's still a little scary!

@sorrycharlie: I agree.. I'm not a complainer either. I was just thinking that if it is happening a lot with other people, it could actually be a defect and the company may want to know. Certainly this could also be wear and tear since kids can be rough on their loveys.

It's actually fairly common and a complaint on a lot of sites. Especially with the brown dog. Glad nothing happened!

Thanks for your input everyone. I just inspected all 3 that we have. Turns out that the ears on the original one that we received as a gift are completely sewn the length of the ear that touches the head. The other 2 that I bought new several months later only have the ears attached at each end. This is one of the ones that came off. I wonder if they changed their manufacturing process? Weird. Anyway, I'll be really careful from now on to inspect every time before giving it to him. Maybe I should switch to a different style with smaller or no ears??

@pregnantbee: I would definitely call them!
We have the angel dear lion - no ears or anything else that could be pulled off.

Scary! I'd just reinforce the seams and sew the ears just to be safe. It makes me want to check ours.

I just emailed the company and will let you all know what happens. Hm.
@winniebee: We love lions around here, too, so maybe I'll look at that one. Thanks!

UPDATE: I contacted the company, and they responded quickly, apologized and sent not 1, but 2 replacements and asked that I return the defective one so they can study it and see what happened. Great customer service! They even sent a pre-paid envelope for the return.

@pregnantbee: Wow that's awesome! It makes me feel a lot better about the company hearing that.
