At what age did you start pumping? The last thing I want to do is create confusion by introducing a bottle when S is already a champion nurser. I talked to a mama today who told me she left it too LATE for it to be successful. Any experiences to share?

LO got one bottle a day starting at 1 week old ! We've never experienced nipple confusion. I EP now (by choice) and he loves his bottles !

I didn't pump until 6 weeks on the recommendation from my midwife. I was dealing with a massive oversupply and we didn't want to make it worse. We tried bottles starting at 8 weeks and now she's 5 months and we still haven't had any luck :(. With our next baby I'll probably try earlier.

After a few weeks I started pumping and giving her a bottle. She still fights bottles from me, but she takes them fine at daycare. She actually had more nipple confusion from pacis than bottles.

I started pumping and giving LO a bottle at 6 weeks. We did not have any problems. I believe that he wouldn't have any problems if we started earlier. He took a paci from the very beginning with no problems.

I started pumping occasionally around 3 weeks and gave her her first bottle that day (she woke up starving right after I pumped
) she's never had any problem going from bottle to breast. My. Supply seems to be just right because I haven't had any over it under supply issues. No nipple confusion for us, but she will not take a paci.

I started pumping at 2 weeks and gave him a bottle a day starting then so that I could ensure that he would take a bottle when I went back to work. I mostly breastfeed but it's a relief to know that he takes bottles too. No nipple confusion here either!

My daughter had to have a bottle of formula in the hospital and she used Pacifiers since she came home, but we never gave her a bottle (other than maybe 1oz of colostrum that I pumped while trying to stimulate my milk to come in on day 4) until about 6 or 7weeks. She never had an issue with nipple confusion from the bottles or paci and will suck on just about anything, not picky about pacifiers or bottles brands

I did when she was around one week old. We didn't experience any nipple confusion. I think she still preferres nursing but has no problem taking a bottle.

I pumped and let DH feed him a bottle starting when he was 5 days old (I think). It never caused any nipple confusion. It was really nice to be able to go to bed a few hours early, knowing that DH would feed him and bring him to me when he was hungry again. It never hurt my supply. We also used a pacifier starting on his first night home. No confusion there, either.

R got two bottles in the hospital due to low blood sugar. I started pumping when she was a little over a week old. She needed to get used to bottles because she gets three a day while I'm at work. She doesn't have any issues except she likes to "play" with the bottle nipple before she'll actually eat.

I pumped right away but I was told by my LC and my bf class teacher that 4 weeks was the sweet spot for introducing a bottle so that's what we did. Just a bottle every couple days to get him used to it. Now I'm back to work and he prefers boob but takes the bottle just fine.

I think I gave his first bottle around 3.5 weeks, but I started pumping around 2.5 in order to have enough milk for that first bottle, haha. He took a bottle like a champ, so it was never an issue for us.

4 weeks. she took a bottle for about 2 weeks, then rejected them for the next 6. kinda depends on the baby.

i started pumping and supplementing our nursing sessions with a bottle around day 5. i know people say lots of different things about when to start bottle feeding, but LO was a very sleepy nurser and wasn't getting enough from nursing so the pediatrician and LC told us to supplement with a bottle. never had any nipple confusion, and i'm thankful that he learned to take a bottle from the get-go.
