what pump do you use? sometimes my membranes on my PIS would be off and it wouldnt suction properly! Try reconnecting everything again. If it fails use the side that is pumping correctly and pump one boob at a time! It takes longer, but you'll get your milk.

Now, take everything apart. Take your tubes out of your pump parts. Take your pump parts out of your bottles or bags. Take the tubes out of the pump. Now, reconnect everything and make sure everything is tight and secure. This time, though, hook the left tube to the bottle you had on the right and the right tube to the bottle you had on the left. My guess it is either something wasn't tight or a piece isn't working properly.

What pump do you have? If you have the Medela PISA, try reconnecting the little white things. Those are what always got me in the past. Edit - "white thing = membrane"

I would also try hand expressing and see what you get out. If you get a bunch out then you know its your pump and not you.

@mediagirl: yep... whenever my mom washed my pump parts she'd pull too hard and tear them every time!! I felt so bad but I had to tell her to stop washing my pump parts and just leave them for me to wash. I was sick of replacing membranes every 3 days.

@mediagirl: hate those stupid white things! I'm still finding them in my purse even though i stopped pumping in july!

Switch to single pump mode and use the flange you had on the right. It will be a PITA but is most likely the membrane on the left. Because the left side doesn't have good suction, it is affecting the right side suction.

do you have a manual pump? Sometimes i found i actually got more with my manual. You could try pumping at home tonight in a low stress environment.

Look up "Stanford pumping" in google. There are some videos about pumping and compressions that were super helpful!

Is hand expression working at all? I have the same thing happen to me and sometimes I can squeeze out a bit when I hand express.

@cmomma17: I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. I can relate to your pic because that's what my left always looks like. In addition to drinking lots of water like pp's have said be sure you're eating enough. I've added a smoothie to my work day and that got me another two ounces to the pump session after it (from 2.5 to 4.5oz).

Stress will really negatively impact your supply. I know there is pressure with work and weight loss, but during your pump sessions, you've gotta turn that part of your brain off. Look at pics of your baby and do something that makes you laugh while you pump. I watch funny you tube videos, old sitcoms, and videos of LO. You can do it momma! Pumping at work is hard work. So, so hard..
