I second what @Thehistoryofus: said about mixing milk and pumping into bags vs. bottles.

I pumped during my son's naps so it was hit or miss on how long I pumped for if he didn't nap well. If possible, maybe try pumping one hour after a feeding - that way your baby has had a meal and you have a bit of time for rebound between nursing sessions. Your body does amazing things and remember, pumps are not totally efficient, unlike a baby, who can get more milk out than we sometimes know is in there. Your body will adjust to demand so pump as often as possible.

I started pumping about 2 weeks before I went back to work and I should have started sooner so I could have had more in my freezer stash and really bulked up my supply but it worked out just fine.

I started pumping from birth to build up a supply. I'd pump directly after feedings a little bit- I had a strong supply early on, so I never had problems having enough left over from LO if I pumped.

I have the same pump as you.

If you pump more than once daily into a bottle. If the bottle does not have a full serving for your LO do you continue pumping into that bottle -that same day- until you reach a feeding size? I will refrigerate and then combine later with chilled milk.

Storage bags: do you pump into a bottle then dump into the bags? Or do you pump directly into the bags?
I have the pump adapters and bags but I prefer pumping into bottles directly.

When do you pump? I pump when I wake up , 2-3 times at work and before I sleep. I no longer pump after feedings but I did for 4 months!

Speaking of going back to work how soon did you start to build a stock pile?
I started the day my milk came in! I prob have over 1800 ounces in our deep freezer and we are currently using milk that was pumped in March!

@Thehistoryofus: Ok. I'm sure you're right. I only know what the video told me. My LO is still hanging out in his personal little uterverse and not heeding the eviction notices.

I did the same as the other bees. I didn't combine warm/cold. After I pumped, I combined the two bottles into one and put it in the fridge. Then I would do another pumping session, combine the two and put in the fridge. When it was feeding time, THEN I would combine two of them that were in the fridge since they were both cold. Or if I wanted to freeze, I would combine two that were in the fridge and pour into the storage bags. I found that my milk had the biggest supply in the middle of the night (I'm talkin 3am). So I used to get up in the middle of the night to pump and I would get tons more milk than I would pumping during the day. It was hard waking up in the middle of the night to pump but I would rather do that once than pump twice during the day.
