Today is the most gorgeous day in Boston - hot and sunny and perfect for catching some Vitamin D. I'm on bedrest and supposed to just lay down. I thought I might sit on our back deck for 30 minutes to lift my spirits (and b/c I haven't been out of the house in almost a week!) I brought my water, cell, and a magazine out on the deck. And then a HUGE BEE (like ginormous) approached and I ran back in the house. It's still out there as is my cell phone. I'm too scared to venture out. Punishment for attempting to *cheat* a little today. Ugh!

Awww! Haha. I can just see you scurrying as quickly, but safely back into the house. I'm sure the bee is gone by now, maybe see if you can get your stuff? I don't think you were being punished.
By the way, when you sit around all day, are you supposed to lay down and be propped up if you're on your back or are you allowed to sit in a chair? Does your body fall asleep from being in one position so long?

@mediagirl: I'm not supposed to sit up as it puts pressure on the cervix. I either need to be lying flat or slightly reclined. So I pretty much lay on one side, then switch to another, all day long. And yes the sides of my bum get verrrry sore. I have a fort of pillows on the couch : )

@winniebee: LOL thats funny! If its fuzzy then its a Bumblebee. They typically fly in a pattern, but are usually harmless. They arent aggressive like wasps or worker bees. That being said, I wouldnt mess with it (Im badly allergic to bees) especially while pregnant. But if hes not sitting on your phone or right near it, you can probably grab it =o)
My dad has one at his house that we named Bob. Hes been there for 3 years this summer. He flies in a straight line from one end of the deck to the other all day long lol. And if you stand up and get in his way, he will jsut stop and hover there like "move it human." he doesnt fly around, he just sits and waits till you move.

@LivsMama: hehe - I looked up online the various types of bees, but of course I can't figure out which type he is so screw the Vitamin D today! The last thing I want is a big old bee sting.

Haha, I'm sorry. Maybe you should get one of those wheelchairs that keeps you reclined and tipped backwards, and you can go out for rides outside.

Now that I think about it, you need a hammock! That would totally comply with your positioning requirements.

Oh no, sucky! Maybe you can try again another day. I once had an issue with a snake outside that I had to run in and hide from. I was just letting my dog out, luckily he was still on a leash so I could pull him in quickly. Then I just sat there watching him through the sliding glass door. I swear he was trying to attack me through the glass.

is it a carpenter bee? they're LOUD and big. my parents deck (where I'm housesitting right now) has a handful every summer, they just drill and eat the wood. lol. scarier to listen to them!

I think it's a botbee (kinda like a femmebot) and is equipped with a mini spy cam . . . Either that or you are super appealing to the bee, and it's hanging around to get a chance to check you out again.

Update: My husband has been on the back deck for 30 minutes today trying to kill the two bees - they have 9 lives, apparently!
