Since sleep training at 5.5 months, our LO has been a great sleeper. She slept 5:45/6-7/7:30 for a while. With the time change, we were able to successfully push her bedtime back to around 6:45/7. This works great for us right now but when she starts eating more finger foods, we'd like to eventually have her eat dinner with us.
Right now she eats at 5:30, bottle at 5:45, then we start her bedtime routine at around 6 or so. She plays/listens to us read for about 25-30 minutes then we put a fresh diaper on her, put lotion on her, and get her pajamas on. I sing a song to her and she goes to sleep.
DH gets home at 5:30. Right now we eat at around 7-7:30 because of when LO's bedtime is. When she starts to eat with us though, we'd like to eat around 6-6:30, which would push her bedtime back to 7:30-8.
If she doesn't start to make the change on her own, should we start to gradually push her bedtime back at around 9 months (she's 8 months now)? Like maybe do 7:15 for a few weeks, then 7:30 for a few weeks, and so on until we're at a good time?
We could also probably shorten her play time a bit so that we could eat with her and not put her to bed later than 7:30.
