My lo is 2weeks now. When do i start pumping and what time during the day? Should I do it after a feeding in between? I a so confused... I want some bottles so my husband can help feed her.

It all depends on your preferences. You can start pumping now or wait a little longer. I'd suggest when you start pumping you try doing it in the morning when you have the most milk. Either pump one side while baby feeds on the other or pump after the first feeding, or pump between nursing sessions. I tried to pump during my son's first morning nap so between sessions. Sometimes I wouldn't get 1/2 an ounce, other times I could get 1 or 2 ounces.

I waited til 4 weeks and pump when he is not likely to eat soon and yet I'm full. For me, that is middle of the night after he feeds on one side, I pump the other.

I would nurse on demand for the first 3-4 weeks and let your LO set your supply and establish a good nursing relationship.
When you start pumping you can really donut weberver. Either pump one side and feed the other, pump after a feeding, or wait and pump in between nursings f you know there is going to be a longer break (like a long stretch of sleep).

i had supplemented with formula, especially since my milk didn't really come in for awhile. so i'd pump when i fed formula. i used to barely get an ounce total on both sides - now i average around total 7-9 oz....

I didn't start pumping until about 3-4 weeks, because we didn't introduce a bottle until then. It's only in the past 3 weeks or so (LO is now 12 weeks) that things are predictable enough for me to have a real pumping schedule. I pump in the morning when I wake up - whichever side LO doesn't eat. And then I pump again at night if she doesn't take both sides before going to bed. I'm pumping enough for about 1.5 bottles/day, but she only takes a bottle about 5x/week.

I started pumping early to help my supply increase (although it didn't really work) but i pumped after LO nursed or pumped on side while she nursed on the other.
