Is there a difference between the 44"x44" ones sold at Babies R Us/Buy Buy Baby and the 47"x47" ones sold on Amazon? I've heard that the big ones are the good ones, but does the 3 extra inches really make a difference?

Yes, it makes a difference, not so much because of the size, but because of the softness and stretch of the material. I much prefer the larger, more expensive version.

We have both and there really isn't a huge difference (to me, at least!) that would make me prefer one over the other. We got our 44x44 ones at target though. I love our a+a blankets!

They are not constructed the same, from what I understand. I've heard there is a major quality difference in the fabric. We have the "Oh Girl" set from Amazon and they are 100% one of the best baby purchases we made. We use them every single day. They just keep getting softer and softer.

@hilsy85: BabyGap has some of them, I don't know if these are the prints or size you want, but I got an email for 25% off purchases that is good for today and tomorrow...

@hilsy85: A few of the sets on Amazon are cheaper. My set was $35 instead of $50.

I dont know about size difference, but the ones that are made of bamboo fibers are way softer than the regular ones. (I think they might be a bit more expensive too? I cant remember...)

The bigger ones tend to be softer and the extra 3 inches definitely kept my LO swaddled in the early days! I received a pack of the Target version and some of them (especially the striped one) are so rough!

@yoursilverlining: yup the bigger ones seem to regularly retail for about $50 for a 4 pack, whereas the others are in the $30 range.

@hilsy85: Here's the bamboo ones, which I found to be the softest after feeling all the blankets in a store teehee

3/$40 - larger size.

We have some bamboo ones and while they are definitely soft and light I've noticed that because of this they get snagged easily and get runs in them. I like the blankets but kinda don't see why everyone raves so much about them. Just my two cents...
