Baby R turned one month old yesterday. He sleeps great during the day (2-2.5 hour naps....just took a 3.5 hour nap) but at night it's still a struggle to get a 2 hour stretch (and most nights is awake for at least an hour at times....last night it was 3!). In the afternoons it seems like he wakes, then eats and falls back asleep. He does have awake periods during the day it just seems that this pattern develops in the afternoon. I recall using EASY at this age with T, but day/night confusion wasn't really an issue at this point and he was sleeping primarily 3 hour stretches at night.
I know most babies figure out days and nights by 6 weeks. Should I at this point stop following his lead and instead wake him up after feedings to encourage more awake time? Or just follow his lead and wait it out?
I do other things to encourage him to sort out days and nights (dim lighting at night, white noise, swaddle, no eye contact, limited diaper changes....and during day keep it loud and bright and don't swaddle).
I swear I've done this before.....
