Last night M slept from 8pm to 3am!!! This was the first time she has slept through her midnight feeding since she was a month old (she is 3 months now). While I'm not getting my hopes up that this is a trend, I can still be hopeful about it.

So, when I woke up at 3, my boobs were very engorged and my right one hurt a little bit like I had a blocked duct. I fed her but she was only interested in nursing for less than 10 minutes, on one side. Since I had a little pain and I was too uncomfortable to sleep on my right side, I went downstairs to pump after she went back to sleep.

My question is, what should I do if this happens again? Should I try to get her to eat from both sides? I did that but she just let her head drop back and fell asleep. If I can't, should I pump to make sure I'm not engorged on the one side and so I don't get blocked ducts? Or should I start training my body that I don't need that feeding and don't pump even if she doesn't eat from one side after skipping a feeding?

Sorry for the long question...I'm just trying to figure this out. I'm doing all nursing when I'm not at work now. Trying to just pump when I'm at work unless it's necessary.
