My cycles average 36 days. The way that I calculated my EDD before drs appt was based on my "O" date + 2 weeks prior being pregnant. The dating U/S confirmed my date when it measured the fetus.

The best way is to have an early ultra sound. They will measure the embryo and give you a date. But if you try to guess like mrsjwy said use your ovulation which is two weeks before you get a positive pregnancy text

I had long and irregular cycles. They were anywhere from 35 to 90 days. When I went to the dr I tried to tell the nurse but she wasn't paying attention. She took the date of my last period and wrote it down. By her calculations I was 13 weeks pregnant. I told her I knew that was not the case and that I was probably six or seven. She still wouldn't listen. The dr came in did the ultra sound and I was six weeks pregnant. So just remember to kept reminding them you have irregular cycles
