So sorry you're going through this!

I've gone through 3 miscarriages without meds or a D&C. Hubby works long hours and we have no family in the area. Our daughter was almost 2 years old during the first one, 2 years old for the 2nd one, and a little over 2 1/2 for the 3rd one and she was home with the me the whole time. I didn't have any issues going through it. Would it have been nicer if I could have some me time and help? sure. But we managed.

That being said, it is such a different experience for each person. Hope someone who has done the meds has some good advice for you!

My husband was home to watch DS so I could lie down while I took it. My friend took it while her husband was at work and she was home with her three kids. I think it's doable if you have to! Here's my experience and others added there's. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I didn't take it and waited to miscarry naturally. I had a horrible experience with a natural miscarriage that ended up with me losing a lot of blood, going to the ER, and having an emergency d and c. My experience is not typical. I am sorry you are going through this and really hope everything goes smoothly.

I'm so sorry. I miscarried naturally at 6 weeks, so I'm not much help. My heart y bleeding only lasted 48 hours or so. Sending you

I'm so sorry you are having to make this decision. I had an awful experience on the pills. The taking of the actual pills wasn't that bad- I was given prescription painkillers so I kept up with those and the cramps were never awful. It was just really, really gross and frankly mentally rough to see everything coming out. Unfortunately I ended up bleeding for an entire month- a few times were scary heavy- and eventually ended up having a D&C to get the remaining lining out.

I'm sure at 6 weeks it wouldn't be as bad as mine was (I was at 10 weeks) but my concern would be if you have a toddler and might be home by yourself. The unpredictability of the pill is the worst part about it- you don't know if your experience will be good or bad. Is a D&C an option? I've had 2 and honestly they have both been very positive experiences. They were quick and painless (twilight is awesome!) and I was able to move on physically and mentally more quickly. I'm so sorry for your loss. I took the misoprostol for my first miscarriage. My experience was just ok, not a horror story like some you read online, but not great either. I was 10 weeks but measured 6, so similar to you. Basically I wasn't prepared for how much it hurt so I didn't take the painkillers they gave me early enough. I also didn't like not knowing when it would "end". In total, it actually only took about 12 hours for the worst of it, so not too bad.

I will be honest, for my recent m/c, I went with the D&C instead of either the misoprostol or waiting. But I was further along this time and didn't want to see anything, plus I have a toddler at home now. No matter what, it's a crappy choice to have to make, and I'm sorry you're dealing with this right now. Hugs.
