Would you feed a 7 month old quinoa? I have left overs and am considering mixing his avo in, but hubs is opposed.
Thoughts?

Why the opposition? I gave quinoa around the 7 month mark, and had no problems.

@Freckles: probably mostly because he (DH) doesn't like it. he was also opposed to me giving LO avo in the first place "because it's fatty"

Oh geez, if your DH was opposed to avo because "it's fatty" then I say he officially loses all food selection privileges! Yes, quinoa is fine - DD has been eating that for a while (she's 9 months) and she loves it. Go for it!

@Ree723: hahaha, agree!
DH won, I decided to go the premade food route tonight... But guess who's having avo + quinoa tomorrow....

I actually used quinoa in her chicken porridge, and many people were surprised by how much she loved it.
Fat is good, and i totally agree with @Ree723!

Tell your hubby that now is the time to feed LO different things to make him not a picky eater "like SOME people"

Quinoa has been a lifesaver for my LO and really is only source of protein.
Some LO's do have difficulty with the whole seeds and many found quinoa flakes or using quinoa flour to be better for their digestion when first introducing it to their diet.

@regberadaisy: I put mine in the rice cooker with a bullion cube and same amount of water I would use for rice. Comes out perfect.

@regberadaisy: I would avoid the stock though if going to give to LO also - too much sodium
