We just opened up our 4moms Rockaroo, and my husband thinks the motor is way too loud. I told him I'm pretty sure all swings have motor noise, but I admit it is pretty loud. Before I go through the trouble of returning it, I figured I'd see if anyone can recommend a swing with a quieter motor? The reason I picked the Rockaroo was its size (smaller than most!), the fact that it can be plugged in (instead of using batteries), and it is not an 'eyesore' in the living room. However, if there's a better option out there, please let me know!

We have the Comfort Harmony swing and I think it's fairly quiet. We actually picked it based on size, too. I'm glad we didn't get a huge one because my son absolutely hates the swing (but we haven't put it up yet and admitted this to ourselves). It does require batteries, though, but we haven't used it enough for that to be a problem.

We had the snugabunny, which was fairly quiet until our chunker got bigger (then it would "creak" sometimes). It's kind of big, but it was neutral and wasn't an eyesore. It plugs in.

@BakerBee: Thanks for the rec! Hope all is going well with your little guy:-). I am returning the Rockaroo today and am going to stand in the store and listen to motor/movement noise of all the swings at BBB. Love that this one is pretty tiny!
@Mrs. Yoyo: Glad to hear a vote for sungabunny! I was a nanny, and recall the 'creaking' phase when they got bigger. That noise isn't so bad....it was unbelievable how loud the motor was on the Rockaroo. I think I might have a defective one... -
It doesn't plug in, but we have the travel size Fisher Price rainforest friends swing. It's super quiet even as she's gotten heavier (she's sleeping in it right now and weighs 19.2 pounds). We don't have to replace the batteries very often in it, maybe once every 3 months, but we use it mainly on the weekends now since she's in daycare. It's pretty neutral.

We have a mamaroo and it is pretty loud too. Are you trying to get a quieter one for the baby or you? Because I think our baby actually likes the repetitive "white noise" the motor makes.

@BadgerMom: I thought about it as being a good "white noise" option, too, but it was very uneven sounding. I listened to a mamaroo today at BBB and it was definitely quieter than the rockaroo we had.
@LovelyPlum: I listened to one at BBB today for comparison, and it really makes me think ours had an issue with the motor. It was way louder than the one in the store! Great to hear that you love it, though-we might circle back to it depending on our research -
Our mamaroo had a nice little hum to it when it was turned up to full volume but it really just became background noise ! If it is a problem with your motor, their customer service is amazing

@ChiCalGoBee: ours originally had a motor issue, too. We took it back and exchanged it with no issues at BBB. Hope you find something you love!
