So I think someone essentially sent me a "text" but to my e-mail. The sender is phonenumber@mms.att.net. I don't recognize the number, but the text/e-mail says:
"Any chance of u 3 coming by this weekend for lunch or supper?"
So it definitely seems like it could be someone that knows me. The area code is MA and we do have both friends and family that live there. Should I respond at all with "Who is this?" or just ignore it?

If you type the number in your phone and press call, if they're a contact, it will come up. If they don't, I'd ask who it is. You can use the "sorry, my phone erased some contacts. Who is this?" reply.

I would ask who is this? Then if it is someone you know, I would write back, oh I guess your number got deleted by mistake.

@Adira: If you google the number it should tell you the city/area it's from, not just the state. Could you ask your DH if it's somebody who he knows? I don't think it's spam.

@MaisyMay: Okay, just googled the number and it's from a town in MA where Hubs' grandparents live, so I'm guessing maybe it's them. Though I think I'll still respond with "Who is this?" just to be on the safe side, haha.

If it's something like that then I just respond "Sorry, I don't have your number saved in my phone, who is this?"

@anonysquire: If I was certain it wasn't a family member, especially a grandparent!!, I would have so much fun with this random conversation.
I'd probably say something ridiculous like, "What do you want me to wear?"
